Dancing, Singing, Stories, and Silence
~Angeles Arrien
We may not live in a "shamanic society," and yet, the medicine of dancing, singing, stories, and silence might be part of a path, your path, my path. They are a part of mine, I know.
My part in this with you could look a number of ways, including accompanying you with the many parts of you, or accompanying you in your gatherings or creating possibilities for gatherings for you and your people. If you have any questions, or if you see we have work to do together, contact me at site@matthewcolombo.com.
Movement/Dancing offerings: Move in the Mountains
Singing offerings: Voice of the Drum
Note that the sound quality is hugely improved if you listen to the recording with a speaker or headphones of a quality that the low end, or bass, comes through. The speakers in my 2015 Subaru work quite well, for example. iPhone, laptop, and basic headphone speakers result in a very thin and surface level sound.
The introductory call and rhythm is Sinte, and then freeform from there. Thank you to the humans in Africa through whom Sinte has moved for a very long time. Same to the humans who have crafted and craft Djembes. Mine, I was told, came from what some call Guinea, purchased by a missionary there who kept it in his closet in Virginia and never played it. I am glad to be giving it life.
